Your health and well-being is Quesada’s top priority

These are challenging times for Canadians and we realize everyone has a lot on their minds and in their hearts. As a leading restaurant chain focused on fresh, healthier food, and bringing people together, Quesada has always taken the health and safety of its guests, employees and partners seriously. As the founder & CEO of Quesada, I’d like to personally take a moment to let you know what we are doing company-wide to help stop the spread of COVID-19.

In the last few days, we have introduced more stringent measures at Quesada’s restaurants across Canada that include:

  • Extensive sanitization of guest areas, the service line and kitchen
  • Rigorous hand-washing practices
  • No cash payments 
  • Encouraging pre-ordering through the Quesada app and enforcing the take-out/delivery only rule in regions where the law requires it
  • Limited seating at all our other locations

We would also like to remind our valued guests, employees and partners – and all Canadians – to please follow the Government of Canada’s instructions that include avoiding crowds, practicing self-monitoring and self-isolation if you are showing signs of any symptoms related to the virus, returning home from abroad or have been in contact with or are suffering from COVID-19.

We’re all in this together, and I am confident we will all do our part.

Canada’s First Beyond Meat® Burrito That Gives Back

As of September 2019, Quesada Burritos & Tacos is the first Canadian restaurant chain to join ‘1% for the Planet’, a growing global movement and non-profit organization focused on environmental change in Canada, and around the world. We commit to donating one per cent of annual sales of our Beyond Meat® Burrito – now officially a permanent menu item – to support approved environmental non-profit partners focused on issues such as sustainable food systems and climate change.

We’re excited to welcome Quesada to our growing, global movement,” says Kate Williams, CEO of 1% for the Planet. “Currently, only 3 per cent of total philanthropy goes to the environment. The planet needs bigger support than this, and Quesada is among corporate leaders doing their valuable part to increase giving and support on issues that matter to consumers and our planet.

Joining 1% for the Planet aligns with our company-wide goal to make positive environmental changes from the inside out. We want to inspire our customers and employees to want to do more for the earth,” said Steve Gill, Founder and Chief Recipe Officer, Quesada Burritos & Tacos.

Quesada will work with 1% for the Planet to develop giving strategies that support Canadian environmental non-profits. In addition, Quesada is developing meaningful ways employees can support environmental causes in their own communities.
